The annual Suppliers' Day showcase, held this year on May 10th and 11th, 2011, at The New Jersey Convention Center, Raritan Center, Edison, New Jersey, revealed an emphasis on safety, sustainability, and alternative formulating options. US companies with global outreach, as well as European suppliers, and others, continue to incorporate the demand for biodegradable ingredients, as well as environmentally sensitive processing as key to the future of cosmetic formulation.
Offering ingredient ranges from all corners of the world, suppliers are increasingly cognizant of the need to satisfy today's trends, particularly in the utilization and delivery of naturally derived, organic, and renewable products and processing. In addition, while ingredient certification continues to wield influence in buying decisions, it is becoming understood that as products with the USDA label, EcoCert certification, or the National Products Association holds way, there are ingredients that represent aspects of natural, sustainable, biodegradable, renewable, or energy efficient processing that offer distinct appeal in the development process.
