Holi is a very important festival held annually in March and April in India. In 2010 the festival will begin on March 1st. What makes this festival so significant is that it involves color, lots of it, and it is all natural. Since India is now a prime source of natural colorants, it is worthy of mentioning how this festival impacts the India color market. The world is leaning towards all natural color additives for foods and cosmetics and these colorants will impact the future economics to the cosmetics and personal care industry. There are some major colors associated with Holi: Green, Red, Magenta, Blue, Saffron and Yellow. All these colors, being natural, originate from the surrounding areas from plants, trees, shrubs, flowers and fruits. These are staples in the Indian culture and have been for thousands of years as they contain nutrients, and many possess therapeutic value as well as being useful for diet, cleansing and of course beauty. In the Holi festival the people just have loads of fun with color...
